What is Floors and Beyond VA?

Floors and Beyond VA manages 2 data types including blog posts. Helps you organize, track, and share your work in 1 place for teams and solo users.

Is LVP really waterproof?

The plank itself resists water, which makes it a good fit for kitchens, bathrooms and basements. Standing water can still reach seams and the subfloor, so wipe up large spills promptly.

Can LVP be installed over my existing floor?

Often yes, but it depends on the current floor and how flat and sound it is. We check this at the visit before recommending a method.

How long does an LVP installation take?

Most rooms take one to a few days depending on size, subfloor preparation and furniture moving. We give you a schedule after the visit.

How does LVP compare with hardwood?

LVP resists water, scratches and dents better and needs less upkeep. Hardwood can be refinished many times and has a natural feel. We help you decide room by room.

Is LVP a good choice with pets?

Yes. The wear layer resists scratches and accidents, and the surface is easy to clean.

Does my Reston cluster require a sound-rated underlayment?

Many do, and some specify an exact rating. Send us your cluster documents or ask your association, and we will match the assembly to the requirement before ordering.

Floors and Beyond VA installs luxury vinyl plank flooring in Reston, VA, in cluster townhomes, mid-century contemporaries and the condo buildings around Reston Town Center. LVP is waterproof, resists scratches and dents, and suits the lower levels, kitchens and basements common in Reston's older clusters. Our own crews measure, prepare the subfloor, deliver, install and clean up, and we bring samples to your door. Reston has rules: cluster associations and the Reston Association set standards for the community, and many clusters require sound-rated underlayment between floors. We confirm those requirements before ordering material so the job is not stopped halfway. Request a visit through our contact page and we will walk the space with you.

Reviewing Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) Flooring samples for a home in Reston, VA

Why Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) Flooring in Reston

Reston's clustered townhomes share walls and floors, which makes acoustics as important as appearance. A sound-rated underlayment and a properly floated assembly are usually required, and they are also what keeps a neighbour from objecting to a new hard floor. Mid-century contemporaries here often have slab sections, so a moisture test and a vapor barrier come first. Where an original wood floor remains, LVP belongs in the kitchen, bath and lower level instead. LVP also tolerates the moisture that shows up in Reston's wooded, shaded lower levels better than laminate or solid wood. Floors and Beyond VA will tell you when refinishing the existing floor is the better call.
